Welcome to Adventures in Parenting and Growing Up

I am happy to announce that the books in The Adventures of Charlie Chameleon series have received 5 Star awards from Readers’ Favorites!

Here is Charlie Chameleon with some of his friends in Mrs. Gray’s class.

Math is one of Charlie’s favorite subjects.

Gary Gecko is Charlie’s new best friend.

Can you tell what his favorite subject is by looking at his bedroom?

The Adventures of Charlie Chameleon series strives to teach empathy. Volume 1, New Beginnings, covers the topic of moving. Volume 2, School Days, deals with bullying in a unique way. Volume 3, Summertime, is a fun romp, family vacations and events around a summer soccer game. Volumes 4 and 5, Holiday Celebrations and Community Helpers are written and awaiting illustrations.

My first book, Parenting . . . A Work in Progress  is available worldwide in print and all eBook formats.

Parenting . . . A Work in Progress uses humor and practical strategies to help parents  successfully guide their children, while keeping their sanity. Understanding the reasons why children do the things they do makes it easier to have patience with their antics.

The blog topics cover elements of physical, cognitive and social-emotional growth in children, along with other topics of interest regarding families. Sock Puppet Tim provides advice with humor on the blog and YouTube. And occasionally something completely different will be posted to take a break from the serious and sometimes wacky world of parenting.

I encourage readers to let me know how they feel about the book(s), the blog and anything else related to family life.

May there be a spring in your step and joy to keep you moving forward!
